Arbor Day

Frady Park in the City of Falls Church is the site of the first Arbor Day celebration in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VPIS holds an Arbor Day celebration every year in celebration of our history and our commitment to keeping a strong tree canopy in the City of Falls Church.

VPIS has provided the leadership to ensure that our community was endowed with a wealth of trees through our Neighborhood Tree Program. Due to our commitment, the City of Falls Church has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation for over 40 years.

Upcoming event:

Arbor Day 2018 will be held at Cherry Hill Park near the basketball courts on April 21 at 1:00pm. There will be a short ceremony and refreshments. A Neighborhood Tree Planting event will follow the ceremony.
